About Me and The Whole Site
You might’ve read this info somewhere before, so mind me repeating because this is how ‘About’ page should be, right?
Who am I? What’s with the site name? Why DESIGNDEVEAT.COM?
The name is Umi Fadilah, but it is often called Ume (like a Japanese name, though it’s not). I am 22 yrs old Web Designer/Geek/Foodie based in Jakarta, Indonesia. I have this huge passion in interaction design, technology, and food – 3 things that made people enjoy their lives to the fullest. For short, I’d like to call myself an AE – Awesomeness Enthusiast :-)
DESIGNFirst, I speak the languange of wisdom (blah, you wished). No, really, i speak the language of aesthetics and sublimity, and that’s something I have always been perfectionist about. I do care about each details, pixel-perfect, readable text, usability & user experience. I do branding & identity, presentation and also web interface. That’s where the DESIGN part comes up (soon). |
DEVSecond, I was raised in a completely non-technological manner, but luckily my parents sent me away to a zoo-adjacent college full of geeky atmosphere. That’s where I struggle to understand how scary technology can be, and that’s when my life started to revolve around Microsofties. Yes, from Microsoft Innovation Center ITB to a Student Partner, and right now I am managing the TechNet & MSDN sites for most of APAC countries. I get to know Silverlight, VS, Expression, etc but my main interest still lies on the aesthetic side, the front facing web & mobile development. This long story covers the DEV side of my life. |
EATAnd finally about the EAT part.. I guess it just came bundled within the package :-p I am mother-naturedly engineered to have sensitive taste buds, I love food adventure, love everything home-made, and I’m a curious food connoisseur. Like design, food itself is major perfection and should be handled with care. |

Yes, since I own this beauty.Meet Luwey. Lame, i know..but it’s easier for me to call it that way, so be it :-) This white Lumix GF1 is what I finally chose after 30hrs of research & googling. Photography has recently become part of my life and i gotta tell you, i am starting from zero here. I’m still that girl who trusts every captured moment to the automation mode of my camera.
