New SecondHand Toy, Fuji Instax 200 (Wide Film) Polaroid

So i got this on Kaskus, the leading no.1 Indonesian community forum – a secondhand Fuji Instax 200 for only 450k IDR!! Can’t believe it either, but turns out it has pretty major body scratch (haha) and i need to get my glue gun so it’d be fixed :-) But yeah i guess it’s worth the price. I’ve always wanted to own a polaroid my whole life and now’s the time! Anyway yes, it is BIG BULKY, and BIG. You will definitely stand out in crowd, where people will gaze upon you and ask, “Who the hell brings such bulky large camera in this 21st century? Lame”. But don’t care what people say, because it’s FUN and people will stop chitchat when they see the photo result coming out from top :-)

The back is quite…. horrible. LOL. Scratch everywhere, but who cares.. the function is normal anyway

Remember him? If not, you should see his previous total random-crazy camera act. Yes, i really don’t know what got into my little brother, but tonight he started painting his face using ballpoint, haha. And don’t think I just sat quietly watching, no.. I did participate too giving my signatures ;p Turns out it was fun! And not that hard to get rid of, the ballpoint marks are easily cleansed with soap and warm water. Don’t worry.

Microsoft’s FY11 Kick-off at Bandung, Great Experience!

So this is my first company trip experience, and it was great! This year we went to Parahyangan Bandung, it’s in outer area from the crowded city so what you’ll find here is simply great ambience, cool & fresh air, so relaxing. I just love it, especially its olympic-sized swimming pool! :-) And also check out the T-shirts, blue is the color of the cloud year, hehe.

Most of the landscape pics are taken inside the bus, so mind some blurry part & just enjoy the rest!

Surprisingly, there’s this motivational Session w/ Tung Desem Waringin, Indonesia’s #1 Best Motivator! And i gotta admit, HE’S GOOD, like REAL GOOD. As for the right pic, it’s a glimpse of our bedroom: 2 king-sized bed, 2 plasma, private kitchen, lux double bath & toilet! Awesome :-)

After 1 day full of meetings, motivational session, and lots of musical +acting performance from each division, now here comes my most favorite part of the trip. Can you believe the pool? Never tried one like this before (in Bandung of course). Great view, fresh pool, plus combo of a mouthwatering breakfast. Heaven on earth? YES.

We had lunch at Raja Melayu restaurant in Bandung. This is actually one of my fav resto, they serve ranging food from all over Sumatra, so this is a good thing for me. Try their “gulai daun ubi”, “gulai kepala ikan” & “cumi saus hitam”, great taste!

And finally we get to go home.. After a refreshing 2 days trip, and i must say it’s a great experience! :-)

Board Game Night Session on 4th-round “Arisan”

On our 4th monthly gathering, known as “arisan”, i called it Board Gaming session! Thanks to Aryo who brought his new toy, Simpang Dago board game, and my sister whose willingly enough to lend me her Texas Hold’em Poker :-) It is so much fun!

Getting tired playing Simpang Dago (seriously there’s just too many rules), we decided to switch to Texas Hold’em. Yaay, my first ever poker night and I won big!! Can you believe it, haha.

Finally congrats to both Fany & Aryo for winning the arisan this month! And it was when Fany shocked us with big announcement, she’s going to chase her master degree in Netherlands! She got accepted by Twente University. Whoaa.. it’s only a few more weeks until her leave period. Sad, but we’re proud of you, sista

These photos were taken few days ago, in my living room. Yes, i was trapped inside house back then, can’t really go nowhere because of heavy rain, and some work stuff just got pretty boring. So I decided to watch TV instead, when I realized, “Hey, why not take some random shots inside the house?”

So here I go, these stuff are obviously still objects and easier to work with. Just gotta find a good angle. Post-editing were all done in Lightroom 3 Trial version (just downloaded ), hmm..pretty much basic brightness-contrast-clarity-saturation tuning. Personally i really like the Warwas teddy bear, it was a souvenir from a colleague who just got back from Poland attending Imagine Cup 2010 Thanks!

FINALLY SPAIN ENDS IT! As much as it sucks when Spain won over Germany on semifinal, now I’m happy that they win this whole thing over. World Cup 2010 is almost ended and I just couldn’t be grateful enough now that Germany has made it to semifinal! Yaaaaay. Last night they just trashed Argentina 4-0 (must be a total shock especially for their “legendary” coach ) This is why I’m celebrating Germans winning by wearing their official Adidas jacket. Somehow it makes me feel like Germans already!

Hopefully they will make it through final! Although next would be versus Spain… And my Iker Casillas is there and i just can’t choose to pick side Spain is much much stronger now than it was back then. I’m also a big fan since World Cup 1998 when I saw Raul Gonzales for the first time, haha.

Well, may the best win!

The Boy and His Total Random Acts

Well.. more like, weird acts Have you meet my youngest brother? Here, let me introduce you to Rama, a 8 year old little boy who really enjoys football, playing around, messing around, and the last part: HE LOVES CAMERA. No, i mean it. He really likes to be captured. And when you say “Pose”, there he goes, posing as he pleases.

These photos were captured like a month ago, long before i had my GF1, so this time we’re not gonna talk about it. Instead, these were taken using a camera that my friend’s brother lent me, Canon EOS 30D. This old generation from Canon still function as good as new About these acts itself, really, there’s no story behind the scene whatsoever. It was taken daylight, indoor inside a room, with all my flash switched ON. And it turned out pretty unique. Enjoy!

Lumix GF1 at Nights, Low-Lights, and Slow Shutter with Pancake 20mm Lens

All of these photos below are taken using Pancake 20mm lens. Low-lights sample were taken in Talavera building, at the first day of purchase. Slow-shutter experiments were taken in front of D’cost Restaurant Bintaro while waiting on queue list. My little brother just got himself a new toy, i don’t know exactly what its name was, but then i called it “Musical-Rotating-Vibrating” Toy. Scary, isn’t it?

Tips: Try changing the background scheme to “Dark mode” instead of Light mode (at the very top-right of this blog). Sometimes seeing these kinds of photos with dark background really makes the color “pop-out”

So last weekend the whole family (minus dad because he’s out of town) went to Waterbom PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk). At first I was going like, “huh? Are you kidding me? Water-splash on Sunday? And it was still student’s holiday! Must be loaded” But then I decided to just go for it, while testing the new toy I knew it was a very sunny daylight so I did bring lens hood to cover my 14-50mm lens. Pancake lens is just not really suitable because you know you’ll miss “zooming” at some point.

So here’s a few snapshot from location. I think GF1′s shots are quite good, nice metering indeed.

Now this one, no I didn't edit the exposure on Lightroom. This is all by default! Over-exposure, eh?

Another quick testing on the same day. This time outdoor (and the battery hasn’t even been on its 1st charge post-buy!) Had small reunion with besties on Cilandak Town Square, followed by night swim at Talavera building. What I’m showing here is the color result of Panasonic Lumix GF1 & its AF tracking mode. No editing except for cropping & resizing, yes turns out that the default dimension is 4:3 (that just seems too square for me).

It was July 2nd, 2010 in the morning when I browsed JPC Kemang’s website randomly and I got pretty shocked. Lumix GF1 WHITE is AVAILABLE! Gosh you have no idea how long i’ve waited for it to come to Indonesia (LOL, poor me). Yes, this white version itself wasn’t sold at Amazon until end of January 2010, whereas the common black version is everywhere since September (or November?) 2009. But in return for its “gorgeusness”, the white version is sold at higher price, around $899 for only the 20mmLens Kit, and $1265 for both lenses (Pancake 20mm/f1.7 + 14-45mm). While the black version varies around $749-$799 for 20mm Lens Kit and $1099-$1183 [price lists on eBay.com]

So it’s really up to you to decide, is it worth it? Well for me, yes it is worth every card-swipe

Finally i went to Kemang and see it for myself. The white, Lumic GF1, in Indonesia! This might sound boring especially for you who gets so lucky living in Japan/UK/US, but I just felt ecstatic and without no second thought, bought it. And thus this PhotoJournal exist. Enjoy!
